It was not a bad week for the 36mini. I guess I will take an 11th place finish.
There has been a lot going on in the last few weeks and the 36mini has not been
getting the tlc that it needs. I know there is 6 races left and the unicorn is
still mad at me and decided that I need to do more to the car in order for his
throne to grow. This is time last season that the magic happened, I don't think
its possible this season.
It was the BUD 150 Mod race this week, So the
pits opened early and we got two sessions of practice and no qualifying. So I
actually got there before Noon. I had to get moving because I needed to swap
over tires to different rims and also buy 2 new tires. I do everything wrong, If
i just bought 8 tires at the start of the season I would not have to be breaking
them in with a few races to go. So the handling was a bit off, maybe when world
series comes the tires will be just perfect.
So at feature time the 36
started 15th. The track was awful, For me it was perfect, The Mod guys down lay
there rubber on the bottom of the track. The high line was a mess.I think the
Mustang guys figured that out half way through the race and moved down a line.
There was a caution for Chad Baxter who broke his crankshaft. So now there was
move crap on the track. But once that got cleaned up, It went somewhat smooth.
So I am up to 13th in points and it does not look good for a top 10 finish this
year. The head on the car is officially a year old and the block is almost 3
years old. So hopefully it will last the rest of the season. Everything else on
the car seems good, I just been having exhaust issues. I been trying different
manifolds, downpipes, big tubes, small tubes....ugh. I gave up on my exhaust
issue. Now I am focused on playing video games. If your bored and want to play
some games click here: PICTOGAMES my favorite

RUSSIAN DANCE
AUGUST 5th 2010
Race Postponed for Tonight's race and Rescheduled to September 26th 2010.
There were not that many cars here today. There was a 75+ chance of a
severe Thunderstorm. So many people took that chance and stayed home.
One surprising car that was there was Jeff Moffat. I cant believe they
got the car all ready in a week. There was 1 round of practice for
everyone and the minis were on the track and got a few laps for the 2nd
round, then the rain came. The rain was heavy from 345-415 and Thompson
decided to Postpone the races. My truck and trailer was in a foot of
water and even if the track did try to get the track ready there was
just way too much water. On the way home it cleared up and the sun came
out and it was dry... FIGURES
36 MINI NEWS:
It was a long few days. I thought It was a simple flat tire and
broken rim. It ended up being a few bent suspension parts. So I replaced
all the suspension on the left side, and then played around with
springs and ride height. I did go out for the 2nd practice and the car
seemed like it was handling so much better. So hopefully next week I can
get some new rims and a few new tires and see what this little vw can
do. The season is half over and its time for the unicorn to shine...=)

This week was the Big Mini Stock Shootout. There were a good amount
of North East Mini Stock tour cars that showed up for tonight's race. I
believe there were about 12 regulars and about 10 others that were mixed
from Thompson, Waterford, Monadnock, and Hudson Speedway drivers.
Today's format was 2 15 lap features. One for Thompson and one for the
tour. So originally it was the top 10 in each division that gets to run
the 20 lap shootout. But at the drivers meeting they said all cars will
run. So if ever car ran we would have had about 45 cars in the race.
The Thompson race was a good one to watch. Oh wait!!! I watched the
whole race, I had a good seat in pit lane. After a 3rd place start in
the heat race I quickly fell back and finished in the rear. So I started
23 out of 26 cars and as I was coming out of turn 2 on the first lap I
saw the 76 car drive right over the front of the 50 car and I swerved to
miss the cars and then my right rear drum just broke off. So I went
spinning in the infield, and the tire still wanted to race and made it
to turn 3 before it hit the wall. So that's how I got a good seat to
watch the rest of the race. It was a great battle for the lead between
Moffat and Dorr. It was some good racing and the lead for Moffat
disappeared when Dorr passed Moffat high going into turn 3. But, Moffat
was not going to let him lead for long he went low coming out of 4 and
it was all Moffat for the last few laps. Jeff Moffat gets his first win.
It was great to finally see him get a win. I know for the last 2 years
he was so close and all the hard work finally paid off.
I did not get to watch the North East Mini Stock Tour race but heard
that the 8 car of Kris McKinstry won by an inch. Damn!!!! There goes all
my fame, I cant say I had the closest finish race in the Mini Stock
race anymore.
So off to the Mini stock Shootout. There were only 26 cars that were
signed up for the race. Since it was a no points race a lot of Thompson
guys played it safe and did not run, also there were a few cars that
were damaged during the regular race and did not have a chance to start.
So the 36mini started 22nd, I have to Thank Tim Higginbotham for
lending me a brake drum. He was there with his mustang so I was lucky he
had one. I was on my way home to get one until I got a call and said
Tim had one for me. I was debating if i should run the race or sit out.
It seemed like every division had a rough night. There were alot of cars
that got banged up. So I thought I would start the race and do a lap
and see how it went and either keep running or pull in. So on the first
lap coming out turn 2 Churchill' car got sideways and I was aiming right
for him so I dove down and Scott Jussaume drove over my left front
wheel. So it seemed like Déjà
vu. So that left me with a junk tire and rim and Jussaume had a flat
also. So once again it was a great race to watch. I had the same seat
like I had at the Thompson Mini Race. Jeff Moffat seemed like he was
going to win this one also, But it ended halfway into the race and in
the middle of turn 2 and 3 his car hit hard in the inside wall. The car
looked bad and it does not look like it was repairable. So Chris
Mckinstry ends up winning the race. I had a chance to speak to Bob
Guptill( NEMST President). He told me he had a great time at Thompson
and everything went well. The tour cars usually run up north in NH, and
Maine. So they made a long ride down to Thompson. You can check out the
tour at www.northeastministocktour.com. I would love to run the tour but its a long haul from mass to most of there races.
JULY 22, 2010
What a Mess!!!!! After last week borrowing a carburetor, I decided to purchase another Keith Dorton. I
actually made it to all of the 4 practices. I could not tell how the
new carburetor was working. I know that I did not have any sputters or
hesitations. So it seemed good and I think it was better then the old
one. I ran into a little problem the last practice. I ran out of fuel. I
guess I was so occupied with the carburetor that I forgot to put fuel.
So for the Heat race I was starting in 3rd. The 70 had the pole and the 3
car had the outside pole. I am not sure what's going on with the 3 car
but I think his new car has some vw bug in it. It just does not seem
like its running right. So I thought I had a good shot at placing well
in the heat race. The 70 car being a "ROOKIE" is way off the pace and
should not be starting in the front. She had starter issues and the car
stalled on her while she was lined up going for the feature. So I guess
that meant the 36 mini was starting on the pole. But, wait it gets
better.... The guy lining us up comes to me right before the 2nd heat
and says that the 70 is going to take her spot. I was like WTF!!!!! I
went on the track as the pole and then she got push started and took her
pole spot. So what does that mean???? A slow rookie was off the pace
that should be starting in the BACK, decides to start up front. So when
you have 3 top running cars behind you and a slow poke starting in pole,
you can just imagine how the the heat race is going to start. So coming
out of turn 3/4 the 70 car does not go.. So I have 3 cars behind me
pushing me and the 70 car does not go.. So the outside pole guy slows
down not to pass and then the guys behind him have to either hit him or
move down and then a few cars get wrecked. So once again they restart in
the original order. So now I have the 05, 26, 16 and every other car
that is faster then the pole sitter. My grandmother was walking with her
cane and she was faster then the pole sitter. So the green flag drops
and this ''ROOKIE'' (that should not be starting the pole) does not go.
So the 36 mini gets pushed by the hungry guys behind and pushes the pole
sitter that does not go. So I decided to go low and I was at half
throttle trying not to pass low at the start/finish line. So right as I
was going to pass the line she died or who knows, and I just shot right
down low and going into turn one I had a 3 car lead. Then right as I
complete lap 1... I get a black flag, then I have people pointing at me,
then I get a black flag with a line in it. Then I get a black flag with
skulls and crossbones. So what is the point of running? I pulled in pit
lane and Sparky over there told me I passed in the inside before the
start and the finish. So what was I suppose to do just push her the
whole race and finish dead last anyways.
So in the feature I started 20th. I am trying to keep clean and have a
top 10 finish for the year. My car was back up to speed and I believe I
could have had a good run. But all that hope and glory quickly faded
away. The 70 car was starting 16th. So guess what happened!!!!! She was
way off the pace and somehow fell back really quick and I had no where
to go. I could have went low but it was before the start/finish line. I
could not go High because there were cars there, so I just went straight
into her and hit her hard in the rear and pushed her. Then I saw smoke
coming from her rear and that was her night. My car was not the same
after that incident, There was a hitching feeling in my front end. I
would let go of the gas and felt something clicking. So after seeing the
other 74 VW ( the announcers thought it was me) hit the wall hard I got
paranoid. So I was afraid to run the car hard and I ended up with a
terrible 16th place finish. I found out after the race that the motor
mount on the right side broke and the bolt was rocking back and forth.
So I am still in the 10th position spot but, there are a few cars that
are within a few points of me. So I hope the slow poke decides to start
in the back next week and not cause any wrecks.
Next week is the Mini Stocks big week, It will be the Mini Stock
Northern Challenge. The North East Mini Stock Tour will be making there
first Appearance at Thompson Speedway. So according to the Schedule we
will be having a separate 15 lap feature and then a 20 lap shootout. The
top 10 in each race will be in the 20 lap shootout. We had Emerson
Cayer of the NEMST come and race with the Thompson guy and had a great
6th place finish.
I am still so aggravated about the Black Flag Situation. I am also
pissed about people that start the pole when there 5 seconds of the
pace. I have seen Championship drivers start in the rear when they felt
there car was even a little off. Taking the Pole is a big
responsibility. If your car is not up to pace and you still want to
start up there, move down and let the people that are running faster
then you get by you. You started up front and then in one lap your dead
last. I am talking about you 70 and old man 76. Just cause 70 is a
female and old man drove a pro 4 mod, it does not mean your god. The
only god at Thompson Speedway Mini Stock is Steve Romjue. You need to
speak to him in order to pass the "GOD'' test. I seriously don't think I
have ever been this angry. A few weeks ago my car was running shitty
but was faster then old man 76, He was 2nd to last and he was racing me
all over the track like he was wining the race. Why you going to race
someone for dead last when there faster then you? When you have someone
hitting your rear turn after turn for 3 lap, Why not just let them pass
you ( if your way back in the pack). I would pass you in the turns but
you go from the low groove to the high groove back to the low in the
straights to the the middle. Your all over the place. The prick says "
Im going to race your" 1st of all your in last place, 2nd your all over
the track, 3rd you didn't do shit in a pro 4 I don't think your going to
do shit in mini. 4th the 70 and 76 should not be allowed to run at
Thompson cause there a Hazard, I could keep going and going but why
waste my time. If anyone has an issue I have the heat and feature on an
in car camera. So you can clearly see how they are a Hazard. So if any
rookies with a red car in numbers between 70-80 watch out cause the
unicorn might poke you in your ass.
Just some useful information for a few Rookies (I wont mention any names) check this useful link:
http://www.14racing.net/2007_Website/Rookie_Stuff.html
Look at Suggestion #1 It should have been applied to this weeks heat race number 2 ( but then again I wont mention any names)
And by any chance if your an old Man that is a Rookie Look at Suggestion
# 4 ( I have nothing against old people but just in case your a rookie
and old and have a red car with a 76 number on it) My unicorn may be gay
looking but at least it's thorn can poke you, unlike your wings that
are clipped and flap all over the track.
July 8th, 2010 ( last weeks update)
I did not have a chance to update the site last week. I was away for the weekend.
So July 8th race for the 36mini once again was awful. The car seems like
it is getting slower and slower every week. The car was not up to
speed. There seems like there is once again a mystery vw bug that has
been hitting the vw. The Volkswagens at Thompson are slowly dieing off.
The first 3 rounds of practice we were playing with ignition timing and
cam timing and no matter what we did it was not up to speed. So for the
feature it was set where I thought it would be good. I guess I was wrong
once again. So it was a disappointing 16th place finish. So for next
week there is a lot of work to figure out what is wrong.
I did not have that much time to tune the car over the weekend. We
headed down to Bowman Gray Stadium to see what this "MADHOUSE'' talk is
all about. It was a long ride down there but it was well worth it. I
believe there were over 12,000 people in the stands for a regular
Saturday night race. They are only 4 division at Bowman Gray. Every race
was crazy. I thought that people went crazy for the Modified race but, I
was wrong. It seems like I have been wrong a lot of times lately. The
Mini Stock race was also a fun race to watch. There were 2 Features
because they had over 50 cars. It was a mustang field plus 1 Dodge, and 1
Toyota. Hmmm, I think that might be another hint that I need to go to a
Mustang. While browsing the pits I did speak to a few Mini Stock
drivers and it seems like there kinda "Thompson Spec" minus a few things
and plus a few things. Then we were looking at all the Modifieds and
noticed the 79 car had TC as a name on the roof. So I guess Ted
Christopher headed down to Bowman Gray to prove that the North is better
then the South. TC started the pole and led 24 laps and then was in
second place until lap 80. That's when Junior Miller threw his whole car
on TC and then TC sent him into the wall. ( Note to self Don't cheer
for Northern guys down South) I could only imagine if Thompson had such
Hardcore fans and a Stadium packed. So after a long 12 hr drive it was
another long 12 hr drive the next day. So I only had a few days to get
my car ready for July 15ths race. I took the car To Andy Publicover, and
I was planning on either swapping heads, cam, block, or who knows. He
checked everything on the motor and everything is perfect. The ignition
timing was off about 8 degrees but other then that everything checked
out perfect. So the next step was the carburetor. I think I could have
had a fuel issue. So I changed gaskets and power valve and did the
weekly check and it was ready.
July 18th, 2010
So I got to the
track at 3:00 and figured I would play around with the car until the
first practice but, they started practice right when I got there. So I
missed the first practice. I went out for the 2nd practice and the car
was a little better but still was slow. Rob Jette came over to help me
out. Jason Paquette will be in a Mini next week. He was planning on
racing today but his rear end on his truck blew. So after I was whining
about my carburetor Rob said he had a new Keith Dorton in his car. So he
said "if you want you can use it tonight" So we missed the 3rd practice
but was able to get to the 4th round. After the practice I had the
biggest smile. The car was back on pace and the power miraculously came
back. It felt great to finally feel all the power that I lost. So the
heat race I had a good feeling about this Carburetor. I was starting 3rd
but I had a bunch of fast guys in the heat. I got penalized because I
passed on the inside before the start finish line so I lost a few spots.
But I ran into a problem with the Carburetor, the Base plate bolts came
loose. It seems like it always happens with new Carburetors on vw's.
The Mini's were the last Feature of the night and the 36mini was
starting 19th. During the heat race I had a lot of hesitation at the end
of the straights. the fuel bowl was too low, so I had to adjust it. The
car was quick in the feature but it was still choking at the end of the
straightaways. So maybe I needed some jets and not a float adjustment.
But overall I am happy with a 10th place finish. But, I am disappointed
that I had to give the carburetor back to the owner. So on a tight
budget this year I am going to have to try and get my carburetor
flowing. So who knows what will happen next week. If I can get this carb
working I should be good if not I will race for last place..=)
July
1st 2010
The 36 Mini is back on track. Just like the start of the 2009
season, it has been awful. The Unicorns horn is getting smaller and we
are waiting for the new one to grow. I need to make up an excuse for the
poor performance. But, I really don't know what to say. I am lost on
this one. ( insert a Steve Romjue joke). I figured out that the last 3
races would have gave me a good start in the qualifier but I forgot to
sign the car in. So I started dead last and finished almost dead last.
So out of 24 cars the 36 mini started 20th. So at the end it was a 16th
place finish but 2 cars got Disqualified for camshaft infringements. So
it was a 14th place finish which ends the 36mini in 12th place and out
of the top 10 in points. So its back to the drawing board on this one.
Its time to do some changes and get the power back into this car. Out of
6 races the 36mini got 1 top 10 and the rest were from 12-15th.
Racers Quotes:
Ron Rixam said " Why am I going to race a vw if I am racing for 8th
place"
Andy Publicover said " Why race when I can win the Fishing Derby"
Steve Romjue said " I need to work 12hrs a day so I can save money and
come back next year and beat that 36mini piece of crap"
Todd Henshaw said " You have to be an idiot to run a vw and think your
going to win at Thompson"
Joe Baxter said " I beat you, I beat you again, haha where you finish?
Oh did I beat you again? Did you race? I did not see you? I beat you
once again??"
Brent Gleason said " I hate this beep beep beep beep beep mustang"
Chuck Rogers said " My Beavis and butthead kicks your unicorns ass"
Tim Higginbottham said " Hey Mike how can I get my vw faster" my reply "
drive your mustang" other reply '' If I knew don't you think my car
would be fast"

June 24th
2010
This race took 3 week to complete. So I am kinda safe on not updating
the site in almost a month. June 3rd, and June 10th race were rained out
and this week was the makeup race from June 3rd. I am going to skip
last weeks race. The True value modified's were there and the track was
awful. If you went outside the tour rubber you car did some funny stuff.
So off to this week's race, It seemed like it was going to be another
wash out. The weather was not looking good at all. There were Tornado
watches and Severe Thunderstorm watch in effect. So after hearing this
news on Tuesday, I slacked off on Wednesday. The last few weeks its been
all World Cup and the car did not get as much tlc. I was watching the
World cup game and also watching the weather and there was a 95% chance
of rain( same odds of Romjue not racing this year) So i said if they
don't call it by noon then I have a lot of stuff to do in a few hours to
get ready. I showed up at the track around 4pm. Went out for the 2nd
round of practice and it went ok but it was time to get some new tires
(The last time I got new tires that lasted more then 1 race was the
first time Romjue finished in the top 10) So I rushed to get tires and
hopefully make it for the 3rd practice. I missed the 3rd practice but,
we had a 4th round. These tires were much better then my
rain/sleet/snow/sun soaked tires.
So feature time, I started in back of the field because of a carburetor
issue a month ago in qualifying. But with the few more cars that showed
up this week I started somewhere around 18th. Once the green was thrown
the 34 of Roger Ducharme died out and I got caught up and it just pushed
me back. The car was running great up until lap 4 then the new tires
were not so great. The first caution was on lap 6?? It was the 23 car of
LLoyd Anderson. His car was banged up bad as it was nose first in the
middle of the turn 1-2 wall. The next caution came in lap 10. The track
was still kinda funny, It was better then the tour rubber but all i can
see in front of me from my 12th spot position were 7 mustangs in a
bunch. There was some close racing up front and after 10 place it kinda
broke up. I hope there tires I have will be good in a few years I just
need some heat cycles in it...lol
MAY 28th 2010
This week's race was much better then last week's race. In the
feature we only had one caution and it was on the first lap. Then it
went green to checker. The 36 Mini started in 7th and held onto the 8th
place spot until the last lap in the last turn. After following the
36mini for 14 laps I guess it was the last turn to give it all you have.
So after a slingshot effect by one car another car followed and had
contact to my left front rim and then the rim bent and the tire went
flat. It was still rolling, so I stepped on it and coasted pass the
finish line. So I only lost 4 spots. There were 2 cars that got DQ'd in
the Mini Stocks for the first time this year.
36MINI NEWS
The car is not the same it was last year. I think everything is
falling apart. In the first few practices the car was extremely tight.
So after a few adjustments it made no difference. The right front tire
is so bald that I think its hurting me. So I decided to take a tire that
I have in my tire rack that has been soaked. It has been on the tire
rack for 2 years now, It was soaked with snow, sleet, ice,and heat. So
all it took was a few laps and then the car was perfect
(handling). I replaced my center pipe and loback. I think the manifold
is cracked. So i am going to see if I can get that replaced. So for next
week, I need to change the whole left front.
OTHER NEWS
My loback exhaust has been found. After I posted on my site the person
who picked up my exhaust went back to the scrap yard and took it out of
the crusher. So my loback is flat...lol
This weeks question:
Is
this the end for
Steve Romjue??
Wait about 8 weeks
then I will tell you...hahaha
Next weeks question:
The questions of the week are done. Karma might bite you back.
MAY 20th,
2010
The first race of the 2010 Season kicked off on Thursday. It was a
crazy night for the Mini stock Division. Steve Romjue was in attendance
but did not race, He was in the stands watching the race and was thinking " If I had my car It would
have been one of those cars that got destroyed" There were 27 cars that started the feature and a
few of the cars left on wreckers. It was a long long lap 1. The 36 Mini
started 18th. I guess the back of the pack was where you wanted to be
for the first few laps. The top guys all had one thing on there mind.
They wanted to win the race on the first lap. If the next few races end
up like this one then the TIS division might have more cars then the
Mini Stock division. It was a tough night for Jeff Moffat, Nate Taylor,
Mike Veins and Chad Baxter. All 4 of those cars have sustained heavy
damage. I hope they will be able to make it next week, But there going
to have to work there ass off. Leo Defevers was looking to get his
second win this season but got clipped and started in the back of the
pack and worked his way up to 5th place. Scott Michalski was also spun
out at the start of the race and had a flat tire. Somehow he managed to
finish 2nd. I think since Scott has so many Identical cars out there, I
think the numbers change. I have no idea how he got in second. I think I
was watching another race. Bert Ouellette had a great 7th place finish,
after technical problems in the heat race he started dead last and had a
strong finish. On the VW end Tim Higginbotham brought one of his 40
cars and broke a hub/axle on the last lap. Todd Henshaw was battling a
temp. issue and the 36 was going deaf. I would like to congratulate
Lloyd Anderson on his first Career win. He was battling through 3 motor
issues this season and I think they finally got it right. So hopefully
next week we will have a better and cleaner race
36mini NEWS:
It was an good week for the 36mini. It was an 8th place finish. It
could have been worse. The car is not running the same as it was last
year. There were some exhaust leaks, The valves were adjusted, and the
power didn't seem like it was there this week. After a disappointing
heat race, I called the the VW secret agent and got a few tips and I
tried them out. It did improve the car alot and it seemed like it got
better. But, after 10 laps in the race, I mean lap 1 (4th restart). I
was on a mission I got a good jump on the restart and pushed it a little
too much before changing gears and I heard a big pop and then I was
going deaf. The whole exhaust practically feel off. So I had a manifold
and downpipe that just stopped right under my seat. I have never heard
anything that loud. I was going to pull in but the car was still
running. So I decided to keep running and finish the race. I can still
hear my eardrums ringing. I lost alot of power when I lost my exhaust
but overall I will take an 8th place finish.
Other News:
So I lost my whole center pipe and loback exhaust. I went to the
Handicappers Booth and when I asked them if I can get my exhaust back
they told me they don't have it. But this time i'm pissed. This is the
second time it has happened to me and the second time it miraculously
disappeared on the track. The funny part is that I had like 5 people
tell me that they saw a guy on the track crew pick it up. I also saw the
track guy pick it up. But I guess scrap is up these days and my $75
loback can be scrapped for 25 cents. But I know who picked it up so If
this guy is missing his exhaust next week, I have no idea where it went.
As for the question
of the week:
I have not raced in 10 years but i am still better then you!
There has been a lot that has changed at Thompson Speedway. If you raced
when the Mini stock's first started the rules were completely
different. There were mostly Dodges, Chevy's, Vw's and a few Mustangs.
But now it seems like it totally switched the other way. If you raced
back then and ran a 26.0 you could have won a race if you do that now
your racing for dead last. If you won a few races back in the days and
you came to run now you would be running for 10th place.
Next weeks question:
Is this the end for Steve Romjue??
MAY 15th,
2010
The 36mini website has been slacking
lately. The motivation is just not there anymore. Icebreaker was over a
month ago and the car and website are still at the same spot as it was
last month. The 2010 season still seems like it might be on a limited
Schedule this year. I plan on running a few races on the North East Mini
Stock Tour and also a few races at Thompson.
This season started out great. The first two practices the 36mini was
running similar times as last year and it seemed like it was going to be
a good year. I thought this year I would do something different and
actually have my car ready and get that nice shiny Thompson Speedway
2010 sticker. So checking the rules we needed to add an intrusion plate.
I took some metal off a military tank and had some plates welding up to
my door bars. So 75lbs later and .3% more left side weight (55.0%) the
car lost all its handling. Then when I went to pick out my starting
position I picked up number 1. I really did not want to start up from
but, I did. Come on I picked number 1 at Icebreaker I could not start at
the end of the pack. So the 36mini had a great jump and had a few car
length for about 3 laps. In about another lap, I was going to get passed
by 3 cars. My car seemed fast but i guess the mustangs got a little
faster. But, there wasn't anything to worry about, the flywheel bolts
sheared off and my night ended early. It was a long night taking apart
the transmission. I am getting real low on parts so I just grabbed some
spare parts and slapped the thing together. I started dead last (26),
and managed to finish 14th. After the race I found out that I had a few
big exhaust leaks, and a few other stuff that i forgot to do that I wont
mentions.
So the season officially starts this Thursday May 20th, 2010. The 36mini
missed the last 2 open practices because we were working on purchasing
another car. It had some good used Thompson Tires that I really need. It
would have been a good tour/backup car. But, you cant trust anyone. I
have helped a lot of people out at Thompson. I have loaned parts, let
them drive my car, find them parts, and help in any way that I can. Then
they would screw you in a second. Oh well I guess you live and you
learn.
April
9th 2010
The 2010 season starts this
weekend April 10th and 11th 2010. The 36mini should be ready for the
start of the 2010 season. There are a few last things that need to be
done. I hope the Anti-Intrusion plate will be done by Saturdays race.
The 36mini attended the first practice on March 27th. There were a few
new cars and it was a great time to test and tune your car for the
upcoming season. The 36mini had a great few runs but the practice season
ended after another axle/hub failure. The wheel managed to hold on but
the damage was done. So were were unable to make the second practice
session. We replaced the whole right side suspension and should be ready
for this weekends event. I am glad that this happened during practice
and broke coming out of turn four. If it was during a race or if It
broke going into turn 1 or 3. The 36 mini would have been destroyed and
would have join the last 3 cars with hub failures. I would like to Thank
www.pelhamautoparts.com for there help on the new parts so we could get
the car ready for ICEBREAKER. During the off season we are trying a few
new things. So the car might be better, the same, or worse. I guess we
will see this weekend.
FEBUARY
10, 2010
There is not that much going on in the 36mini world. The 36mini
is in the same spot as it was the day after the World Series. My goal
for this year is to uncover the car and go to Icebreaker and win the
race. It ran fine at the World Series so why should I change anything.
The 2010 season is slowly approaching, there is a little over a month
before the first practice. I have a few more rumors that were not posted
on the 14racing.net site. There two that are big and the others are
small. The 36mini 2010 season is still unclear, I was planning on
running both Thompson and NEMST. As of now I have to see what happens
with my work schedule. If the changes don't allow me to leave work early
on Thursdays then it will be all NEMST for me. I might also have to
work weekends too so there could be no racing for me at all. I will have
some vaction days that I could use for a few special events...=)
